LOYALL — Janice Viola Fields Gambrel, 62, of Loyall passed away Saturday, June 14, 2014, at her sister's residence following a short illness. Born September 22, 1951 in Harlan County, she worked as a eye nurse at the Daniel Boone Clinic for 26 years and believed in the Baptist faith.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Zetler Fields and Elsie Lawson Fields.
Janice is survived by two children, Jeff Gambrel, Catrons Creek and Joy Stewart and husband Mark, Port St. Lucie, FL; two brothers, Ronald Fields and wife Mary, Hamilton, OH and Larry Fields and wife Rhonda, Sevierville, TN; one sister, Della Noe, Loyall; seven grandchildren, Jeffery Gambrel, Justin Gambrel, Christopher Gross, Caleb Gross, Rachel Gross, Jessica Gross and Devin Stewart; one great-grandchild, Natalie Stewart; a very special niece, Tina Asher Cox, Baxter; and several other nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held 2 p.m. Thursday, June 19, 2014, in the chapel of Loyall Funeral Home; visitation will be from 1-2 p.m. with Reverend Edmond Gross officiating.
