John Martin Staton, 90, husband of B. Florence Ward Staton, died Friday, Sept. 13, 2013 at the Hospice Care Center. Born on Nov. 2, 1922 in Salt Lick, KY, he was the son of the late Edward and Elizabeth Barber Staton.

Mr. Staton served in the Pacific Theatre during World War II as an Army Air Force Sergeant, was a retired engineer, and a lifelong member of Central Christian Church.

Survivors other than his wife include two daughters, Janet Leigh Staton and her husband Dennis Congdon, Jennifer Staton Osborne and her husband, Phil Osborne; four grandchildren, John Staton Nesbitt, William Pearce Nesbitt, Emily Elizabeth Arbegust, and Anne Ward Arbegust; and one great granddaughter, Anna Warren Nesbitt.

Funeral services will be held 10:30 am Mon. at Kerr Brothers Funeral Home, Harrodsburg Rd. by Rev. Dr. Michael Mooty and Rev. Dr. Elizabeth King. Entombment will follow in Lexington Cemetery.

Visitation will be 3-6 pm Sun. at the funeral home.
