PATHFORK — Samuel Ray Griffin, 55, of Pathfork, passed away Wednesday, May 14, 2014, at the Harlan App. Reg. Hospital following a long illness. Born June 13, 1958 in Pathfork, he had lived here all of his life. Samuel worked as a Security Guard for American Security and believed in the Baptist faith.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Dan Griffin and Cassie Johnson Griffin; three brothers, Robert Griffin, Dan Griffin, Jr., Harmon Griffin; and one grandson, Lucas Bradley Griffin.
Left to mourn his passing is his loving wife of 34 years, Sharon Earls Griffin, Pathfork; son and daughter-in-law, Sam and Amy Griffin, Pathfork; three sisters, Cassie Stewart and husband Jimmy and Mildred Hensley all of Pathfork and Pamela Atkins, Corbin, KY; three brothers, Jim Griffin and wife, Sylvia; Joe Griffin and wife, Barbara; Paul Griffin and wife, Tammy, all of Pathfork.
Also surviving are three grandchildren, Robert Griffin, Middlesboro; and Matthew and Kelsey Gray, Pathfork and host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Visitation will be after 4 p.m. Sunday at the Pathfork Baptist Church.
Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Monday, May 19, 2014, at the church with Reverend James Green and Reverend J.C. Craig officiating.
Burial will be in the Tackett Hill Cemetery, Blackmont, KY.
Friends and family will serve as pallbearers.
