CLOSPLINT — Paul Kelly, 75, of Closplint, passed away Sunday, April 6, 2014, at the Hospice Care Center in Hazard. Born January 23, 1939 at Holmes Mill, he had lived most of his life in Maryland where he worked for 41 years as a security guard for Thiokol/ATK in Elkton, Maryland. Paul was a veteran of the US Marine Corps and believed in the Baptist faith.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Lawrence Kelly and Irene Booth Kelly; and two brothers, Danny and Billy Joe Kelly.

Survivors include two children, Chester Kelly and wife, Wonda, Rising Sun, MD; Dovie Koren Kelly, Olive Hill, KY; two sisters, Katherine Ward and husband, Wayne; Shiela McPhearson and husband, Sam, all of Michigan; and four brothers, Ed Kelly, Lawrenceburg, KY; Wayne Kelly; Jerry Kelly and wife, Betty; and Walter Kelly and wife, Joyce, all of Closplint.

Also surviving are three grandchildren, Jessica LeBrun, Chester Kelly II, and Joshua Kelly; special friends and caregivers, Scotty and Theresa Taylor, Closplint; and a host of other family and friends.

Visitation will begin Friday, April 11, 2014, at 11 am at the Evarts Funeral Home with funeral services following at 12 noon. Chaplain Shawn Proffitt will officiate.

Burial will follow in the Kelly Family Cemetery at Holmes Mill with family and friends serving as pallbearers.
