CRANKS — Earl Rhymer, age 73, of Cranks, KY, went home to be with his Lord and Savior on July 11, at HARH Hospital. He was born on October 22, 1940, in Harlan County to the late Margaret Miracle Rhymer and Walter Rhymer. He was a retired coal miner having worked several years at US Steel Coal Company and Great Western Coal Company. He was of the Pentecostal faith.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Roy Rhymer, and sister, Ruby Rhymer Hicks, brother-in-law, Ray Ricketts and wife, Nina.
Survivors include his beloved wife of 48 years, Wilma Ricketts Rhymer; brother, Willard Rhymer, of Conway, SC; brother, Ralph Rhymer and his wife, Irma, of Cocoa Beach, FL; a special niece, Lisa Harris Napier and husband, Scott, of Keavy, KY; a special brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Arthur and Sue Harris of Cranks, KY; sister-in-law, Dixie Rhymer of Cranks, KY; brother-in-law, Francis Hicks and wife, Helen, of Cranks, KY; brothers-in-law, Billy, Eddie, Kenneth and Jerry Ricketts of Virginia; sister-in-law, Ollie Crabtree and husband, Bill, of Pensacola, FL. Also surviving are a host of nieces and nephews, many friends and family.
Visitation will be from 5:00-8:00 p.m. Sunday, July 13, at the Harlan Funeral Home. Funeral will follow at 8:00 p.m. with pastor, Jim Ewing officiating. Friends and family will serve as pallbearers.
Burial will be Monday, July 14, at 11:00 a.m. at the Rhymer and Hicks Cemetery at Cranks, KY.
