FORDSVILLE, KY. – Ulysses "Pete" Hedden, 87, of Fordsville, Ky., passed away on Sunday, Sept. 22, 2013, at University of Louisville (Ky.) Hospital.
He was born in Fordsville, Ky., to the late William and Maggie (Basham) Hedden.
Pete was retired from 3M.
He was an United States Army
veteran and received a Purple Heart
Pete was of the Baptist faith and a member of AMVETS and American Legion.
Survivors include his companion of 25 years, Wandafa Stone Sprankle, of Fordsville, Ky.; two sons, Monte C. (wife, Nancy) Hedden, of Hartford City, and Lyle M. (wife, Tina) Hedden, of Hartford City; one step-daughter, Paula Stone, of Fairmount; one sister, Jean Young, of Fordsville, Ky.; six grandchildren; nine step-grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; 11 step-great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; 59 nieces and nephews.
He also was preceded in death by his wife, Wanda (Cox) Hedden, one son, Melvin Hedden, and nine brothers and sisters.
Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. on Thursday, Sept. 26, 2013, at Geary Funeral Home, 19 Hartford St., Fordsville, Ky. Burial will be in Macedonia Cemetery, Falls of Rough, Ky., with military honors by Ohio County Honor Guard.
Visitation will be from 2 to 8 p.m. on Wednesday, Sept. 25, 2013, and after 9 a.m. on Thursday, Sept. 26, 2013, at the funeral home.
