MONTPELIER – Dorothy M. Sut-ton, 83, of Montpelier and formerly of Wells County, passed away at 11:50 p.m. on Thursday, May 16, 2013, at her residence.

She was born on Tuesday, September 17, 1929, in Blackford County.
She married Homer "Gene" Sut-ton on Saturday, May 3, 1947, in Montpelier.
Dorothy attended Chester Center School and was co-owner of Sutton Machine Company; retiring in 1984 after many years of employment.
She was a current member of Montpelier Historical Society and a former member of Millard-Brown American Legion Post #156 Auxiliary and Ladies Auxiliary Veterans of Foreign Wars Post #4717, Wolflake.
Dorothy attended The New Beginning Church, Poneto.
Survivors include her sons, Mike (wife, Gyneth) Sutton, of Berne, and Steve (wife, Barbara) Sutton, of Montpelier; daughter, Judy (husband, Wayne) Moore, of Redkey; brother, Leon (wife, Leavera) Stockton, of Hartford City; granddaughters, Anissa (husband, Dave) Burson, of Berne, Nicole (husband, Tim) Zurcher, of Bluffton, Michele (husband, Kyle) Roe, of Monroe, Amy (husband, Emmett) Rodrigues, of Hartford City, and Rebecca (husband, Ron) Hasenbeck, of Summerville, Fla.; grandsons, Kevin Brubaker, of Liberty Center, and Jason (wife, Staci) Brubaker, of Houston, Texas; 13 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Bluford and Violet (Creek) Stockton, husband, Homer "Gene" Sutton, son, Daniel Ellison Sutton, and step brother, Leonard Stockton.
Family and friends may gather to share and remember at Walker & Glancy Funeral Home, 109 W. Windsor St., Montpelier, on Tuesday, May 21, 2013, from 2 to 8 p.m. and from 10 to 11 a.m. on Wednesday, May 22, 2013, before the funeral service.
A service to celebrate Dorothy's life will be at Walker & Glancy Funeral Home at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, May 22, 2013, with her children officiating. Interment will follow in Miller Cemetery, Poneto.
