MARION – Floyd Richard Wentz, 88, of Marion, died on Sunday, Oct. 20, 2013, at Marion General Hospital.

He was born in Hartford City on September 19, 1925, to the late Floyd John and Mabel Florence (Hart) Wentz.
Floyd married Mary E. Wentz on November 1, 1980, and she preceded him in death on November 11, 2010.
He was a veteran of the United States Navy and served as a Carpenters Mate 3rd Class on the USNR and served with the Military Police at Pearl Harbor after the attack.
Floyd was a tool and die maker at Marion General Motors plant and retired in 1988. He previously worked at Overhead Door, Hartford City.
He was a past member of AMVETS Post #23, Hartford City, Marion Moose Club and Marion Masons.
Floyd enjoyed being outdoors, especially fishing, hunting and watching the hummingbirds. He also enjoyed bowling and horseshoes and had won trophies in both sports. He was a member of GM camping club.
More than anything, Floyd enjoyed spending time with his family, especially on Sundays and holidays.
Survivors include his four children, Nancy E. (John) Sutton, of Quinby, S.C., Patty E. (Richard) Dolan, of Corpus Christie, Texas, Tim A. (Emily) Wentz, of Mar-ion, and Doug D. Wentz, of Marion; five grandchildren, Greg Fish, Stephanie Fish, Tricia (David) Parker, Sarah (Wes) Hale and David Wentz; six great-grandchildren, Kelsey, Connor, Jamie, Cameron, Nathan and Jacob; three siblings, Ruth (Robert) Ramseyer, Joan (late Don) Rumbaugh and Charles (Shirley) Wentz; many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends; his first wife, Joanne Wentz.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary E. Wentz, parents, Floyd and Mabel Wentz, and siblings, Martha Yates, Mary Hahn and Russell Wentz.
Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. on Tuesday, Oct., 22, 2013, at Needham-Storey-Wampner Funeral Service, North Chapel, 1341 N. Baldwin Ave., Marion.
Funeral service will be at 1 p.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 23, 2013, at Needham-Storey-Wampner Funeral Service, North Chapel, 1341 N. Baldwin Ave., Marion, with the Rev. Dr. Tom Mansbarger officiating. Burial will be in Gardens of Memory, Huntington County.
