HARTFORD CITY – Logan O. Bergdoll, 81, of Hartford City, pas-sed away at 10:45 a.m. on Friday, Jan. 25, 2013, at his residence.

He was born in Hartford City on May 27, 1931, to the late Otto M. Bergdoll and the late Hazel Nancy (Moore) Bergdoll-Landon.

Logan graduated from Royerton High School in 1949. He was the first quarterback for the Royerton High School football team. He also attended Ball State Teacher's College, Muncie.

He married Anna B. (Landon) Bergdoll on October 11, 1950, at Logan's parents home.

Logan served in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict. He was enlisted from February 18, 195, to January 26, 1954, and was stationed in Germany.

He retired from Glass Containers, Gas City, in 1976.

Logan was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church, Hartford City. He was a life member of American Legion Moyer-Pooler Post #159, Hartford City. He was awarded a life membership to Mississinewa Valley Officials Association.

He coached Little League, Pee Wee football and Girls Summer League softball, all in Hartford City. Logan was active in starting elementary basketball. He was a football and basketball official all over Indiana for high school and Taylor University.

He was a member of I.O.O. F. and Rebecca Lodge and its drill team.

He was the first male volunteer for the Blackford Community Hospital Auxiliary, where he accumulated 900 hours volunteering. He was a charter member of the Glass Container Credit Union, Gas City.

Logan was an avid fisherman and golfer. He was also a die-hard Chicago Cubs fan and an Indiana University fan.

He loved his family and friends. He always enjoyed his summer's on Little Barbee Lake for the past 57 years.

Logan will be sadly missed by his wife, Anna B. Bergdoll, of Hartford City; son, David L. (wife, Karen S.) Bergdoll ,of Hartford City; daughters, Londa J. (partner, Kirk Boughman) McCormick, of Hartford City, and Jayne Ann (husband, Aaron) Bishop, of Gas City; nine grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; sisters. Vivian B. Cole, of Hartford City, and Leona B. (husband, Merrill) Bolner, of Colorado; several nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his parents and his brothers, Vaughn Bergdoll and Charles William Bergdoll.

Funeral service will be at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, Jan. 30, 2013, at Keplinger Funeral Home, 509 N. High St., Hartford City. Burial will follow at Gardens of Memory Cemetery, Muncie.

Visitation will be from 3 to 5 and from 6 to 8 p.m. on Tuesday, Jan. 29, 2013, and from 9 to 11 a.m. on Wednesday, Jan. 30, 2013, at Keplinger Funeral Home.
