HARTFORD CITY – Monte A. "Cujo" Fowler, 52, of Hartford City, passed away after an unexpected illness early Monday, March 10, 2014, at Indiana University Health Ball Memorial Hospital, Muncie.

He was born July 11, 1961, in St. Mary's, Ohio, to Lloyd E. and Ruth (Starr) Fowler.
Monte attended Jay County schools.
He worked as a dental lab technician in his and his sister's business.
Monte loved his Harley Davidson motorcycle and Maid-Rite sandwiches from Greenville, Ohio.
Survivors include his mother, Ruth (Max) Rauch, of Michigan, two children, Josh (Jessica) Fowler, of Salamonia, and Tana (Thomas) Trammell, of Portland; one brother, Ted Fowler; two sisters, Pam Griffith and Teresa McDaniel; two grandchildren, William Trammell and Gwyneth Trammell; close friends, Sherri Cox, Rocky Lillard and John Vaughn; several nieces and nephews.
Cremation was held according to his wishes.
A memorial service will be at 3 p.m. on Saturday, March 29, 2014, in Waters Funeral Home, 501 W. Washington St., Hartford City, with the Rev. Bobby Thomas presiding.
Friends and family may gather after 2:30 p.m. on Saturday.
