HARTFORD CITY – Rhea R. Speidel, 51, of Hartford City, passed away at 10:02 p.m. on Sunday, March 17, 2013, at IU Health Ball Memorial Hospital, Muncie. 

She was born on Saturday, Dec. 23, 1961, in Hartford City. 

Miss Speidel was a 1981 graduate of Blackford High School, Hartford City.

She had worked for Hillcroft Services, Muncie, and Carey Services, Marion, where she did assembly work.

Miss Speidel participated in the Special Olympics of Indiana.

She enjoyed word searches, watching ball games, Elvis Presley, swimming and her dog, Nikki, and loved her family very much.

Survivors include her mother, Evelyn "Jane" (How-ard) Hart, of Hartford City;  three brothers, Jeff (wife, Sara) Speidel, of Hartford City, Chad (wife, Kimberly) Speidel,  of Hartford City, and Allan (wife, Megan) Speidel, of Hartford City; 11 nephews, Caleb Speidel, of Muncie, Cansas Speidel, of Muncie,  Jordan Daily, of Muncie,  Jared Twibell, of Hartford City,  Tanner Hendricks, of Hartford City,  Tryse Hendricks, of Hartford City,  Levi Lytle, of Hartford City,  Bryan Speidel, of Tennessee,  Justin Speidel, of Hartford City,  Dylan Speidel, of Hartford City,  and Ethan Speidel, of Hartford City; six nieces, Adrianna Sowards, of New York,  Jamie Twibell, of Hartford City,  Jaycee Twibell, of Hartford City,  Abby Speidel, of Hartford City,  Lauriah Lytle, of Hartford City,  and Katy Speidel, of Hartford City; three great-nephews; one great-niece; several aunts and uncles.

She was preceded in death by her father, Allan E. "Gene" Speidel,   maternal grandparents, Howard and Leona Harter, and her paternal grandparents, Joseph and Edna Speidel.

Family and friends may gather to share and remember at Hartford City Wesleyan Church, 1301 S. Walnut St., Hartford City on Wednesday, March 20, 2013, from 3 to 7 p.m. and on Thursday, March 21, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.

A service to celebrate Rhea's life will be at Hartford City Wesleyan Church at 1 p.m. on Thursday, March 21, 2013, with Pastor Tom Parsons officiating.  Interment will follow in Brookside Cemetery, Montpelier.

Preferred memorials may be made to Hartford City Wesleyan Church,  1301 S. Walnut St. Hartford City   , IN  47348.

Arrangements are being handled by Walker & Glancy Funeral Home, Montpelier.
