ANDERSON – William "Bill" Lawrence Steinbrunner, 75, of Anderson, passed away unexpectedly on October 11, 2012, at the Bay Medical Center, Panama City, Fla.

He was born on January 2, 1937, in Dayton, Ohio, and resided most of his life in Anderson.

He was a graduate of Hartford City High School in 1955 and University of Notre Dame, South Bend, in 1959.

He retired in 1995 from General Motors following 35 years of employment in various capacities, lastly as General Director of Batteries Worldwide.

Bill also volunteered his time with the St. Mary's School Board and Parish Council, United Way of Madison County, more than 25 years with Aspire Indiana (formerly St. John's Center for Mental Health) and various other boards.

Bill is survived by his loving wife of 52 years, Rita (Rathbun) Steinbrunner, of Anderson; children, Lori (Mike Garrett) Steinbrunner, Linda (Paul) Modica, Ron Steinbrunner and Steve (Karen) Steinbrunner; sister Nancy (Jack) Burke; five nephews; eight grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by father, Dominic William Steinbrunner, mother, Jeanette (Lawrence) Steinbrunner, and brother, Thomas Steinbrunner.

Visitation will be conducted on Thursday, Oct. 25, 2012, from 4 to 8 p.m. and Friday, Oct. 26, from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at Robert D. Loose Funeral Homes Crematory, 200 W. 53rd St., Anderson.

Mass of Christian Burial will be at 1 p.m on Friday, Oct. 26, 2012, at St. Mary's Catholic Church with nephew, the Rev. Adrian Burke, O.S.B., officiating. Cremation will follow at a later date.
