HARTFORD CITY – Robert "Bob" Joseph Kinser, 84, of Hartford City, died at 5:24 a.m. on Sunday, Dec. 30, 2012, at IU Health Ball Memorial Hospital, Muncie.

He was born in Union City on April 8, 1928, to Arthur Thomas Kinser and Minnie Myrtle (Murphy) Kinser. Both parents preceded him in death.
Robert served in the United States Navy from April 1948 to April 1952.
He married E. Rebecca Kinser on June 16, 1956. She preceded him in death on October 13, 1991. He married his second wife, Wilma Colene (Miller) Adkins-Kinser, on November 28, 1992, in Hartford City.
He retired from General Motors in Marion in 1996 after 40 years of employment. He was a member of St. John's the Evangelist Roman Catholic Church, Hartford City. He also was a member of American Legion Moyer-Pooler Post 159, Hartford City, and the Hartford City AMVETS Post 23.
Bob was a 1946 graduate of Hartford City High School.
Robert will be sadly missed by his wife, Wilma Colene Kinser, of Hartford City; sons, Mark Richard Kinser of Fort Mill, S.C., and Michael Robert (wife, Penny) Kinser, of Montpelier; daughters, Michele R. (husband, Brad ) Evans, of Houston, Texas, and Melissa R. (husband, Mark) Dorsey, of Indianapolis; step-son, Douglas A. (wife, Loree) Adkins, of Hartford City; step-daughters, Diane K. (husband, Andy) Tuttle, of Zanesville, and Patricia L. (husband, Jim) Shelly, of Bluffton; grandchildren, Brandi Kinser, Charissa Mounsey, Courtney Carpenter, Matthew Dorsey, Madison Dorsey, Maria Dorsey, Heather Athan, Andy Platt, Joseph Platt, Bob Shelley, Brian Shelley, Kayla Adkins, Ashley Adkins and Douglas Adkins; 13 great-grandchildren; brother, Richard Thomas (wife, Joanne) Kinser, of Hartford City; several nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his parents, his first wife, Rebecca Kinser, brother, James Kinser, and two sisters, Helen Walker and Marie Lamott.
Mass of Christian Burial will be 2 p.m. on Thursday, Jan. 3, 2013, at St. John The Evangelist Roman Catholic Church, 209 S. Spring St., Hartford City, with Father Dave Newton officiating Burial will follow at Hartford City Cemetery.
Visitation will be from noon to 2 p.m. on Thursday, Jan. 3, 2013, at St. John The Evangelist Roman Catholic Church, 209 S. Spring St., Hartford City.
