MARION – Jerald E. Snyder, 65, of Marion, went to be with his Lord and Savior at 6:35 am, on Sunday, Feb. 16, 2014, in Marion General Hospital.

He was born on May 12, 1948 in Wabash to the late Max and Betty (Ford) Snyder.

Jerald graduated from Southwood High School, Wabash, and Indiana Business College, Marion.

He married Valeria K. Atkins on October 26, 1969. She survives.

Jerald was an accountant retiring from Robert C. Nugent & Associates, Hartford City.

He was a member of Brookhaven Wesleyan Church, Marion, where he was a former church treasurer, Sunday school teacher, youth sponsor and formerly served on the church board.

Jerald was a member of Kiwanis Club, Hartford City.

He enjoyed hunting, fishing and classic cars. He loved spending time with his family and attending his grandchildren's activities.

Survivors include his wife, Valeria K.Snyder, of Marion; two daughters, Vonda (fiancé, Tom Schabo) Ness, of Upland, and Alicia (Jeffrey) Walpole, of South Whitley; five grandchildren, Dustin Ness, Nathan Walpole, Lauren Walpole, Haley Schabo and Katie Schabo; two sisters, Patricia (Charles) Padrick, of Bedford, and Paulette (Neil) Hettmansperger, of Walton; one brother, Roger (Susan) Snyder, of Wabash; two sisters-in-law, Donna (Robert) Brookshire, of Marion, and Susan (Larry) Tankersley, of Lanette, Ala.; one brother-in-law, Edwin (Barbara) Atkins, of Marion; several nieces and nephews,

He was preceded in death by his parents, Max and Betty Snyder, parents-in-law, Omer and Virginia Atkins, one brother-in-law, Ralph Atkins, and one nephew, Jeffrey Atkins.

Funeral service will be conducted at 10 a.m. on Thursday, Feb. 20, 2014, at Brookhaven Wesleyan Church, 2960 E. 38th St., Marion, with Pastors Jim Mowat, Tony Bye and Bob Van Cise officiating. Burial will be in Grant Memorial Park Cemetery, Marion.

Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. on Wednesday, Feb. 19, 2014, at the church.
