HARTFORD CITY – Charles Virgil "Bud" Fear, 58, of Hartford City, passed away peacefully at 7 p.m. on Sunday, Aug. 10, 2014, at home surrounded by his family and friends whom he loved dearly.

He was born in Hartford City on October 23, 1955, to Charles "Junior" Fear and Velma A. (McElroy) Wyatt-Fear-Messersmith. His father preceded him in death.

Bud married Susan "Susie" Renee (Pendleton/Duke) on June 20, 1981, at First Church of the Nazarene with the Rev. Marion Williams presiding.

His first job was working for Freddie Stockton at Stockton's Fruit Market. He then worked as a carpenter. He also formerly worked at Gable Hardware Store, at Northfolk and Southern Railroad Company and Pierce Governor, Upland.

Bud also is well known for his work with Rex Shadle and Associates Auction Company and Hall and Lipps Auction Company. His passion in this life was collecting and dealing in antiques.

He loved his children, traveling around the United States and listening to country music.

Bud more recently attended Calvary Christian Lighthouse Church, Hartford City, and was a member of Full Gospel Lighthouse Tabernacle Church, Dunkirk.

He will be sadly missed by his wife of 33 years, Susan "Susie" R. Fear; daughter, Melissa "Lisa" Renee Fear; son, Charles "Justin" Fear; mother, Velma A. Messersmith; brother, Calvin "Leroy" Wyatt, of Tacoma, Wash.; sister, Freda Ann Wyatt; sister-in-law, Malinda Wyatt; father-in-law, Tommy Jack Duke; mother-in-law, Cynthia "Joan" (Bookout) Duke; brothers-in-law, Johnnie (wife, Cheryl) Pendleton, Ronald J. "Ronnie" (wife, Patty) Duke and Robert "Mike" Duke; sisters-in-law, Linda Pendleton Cahue Hall, Carolyn "Darlene" Pendleton (husband, Denny) Thrush and Cynthia "Dawn" Duke; good friends, Mark A. Teer, George Hall, Rex A. Shadle and the Rev. Bobby Thomas; several nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his father, step father, Leonard Andrew Messersmith, his brother, Ronald "Ronny" Dean Wyatt, father-in-law, John Adam Pendleton, mother-in-law, Larna Mae (Duke) Pendleton, and good friend, Freddie Stockton.

Bud will be cremated and a celebration of life will be conducted at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Aug. 16, 2014, at Calvary Christian Lighthouse Church, 2101 N. Walnut St., Hartford City, with Pastor Troy Kaufman and the Rev. Bobby Thomas officiating.

Memorial visitation will be from 9 to 11 a.m. on Saturday, Aug. 16, 2014, at Calvary Christian Lighthouse Church. Burial of cremains will be private at a later date at Hartford City Cemetery.
