VINCENNES – Robert L. Beeson, 81, of Vincennes, died at 1:05 p.m. on Thursday, Dec. 6, 2012, at Good Samaritan Hospital, Vincennes.

He was born in Hartford City on April 29, 1931, to Cecil E. Beeson Sr. and Hannah Catherine Sills.

Bob, a Korean Conflict veteran, served from 1951 to 1955 in the United States Navy as a hospital corpsman.

He graduated from Ball State University, Muncie, and worked in various quality control positions.

After moving to Vincennes and earning his Master's Degree from Indiana State University, Terre Haute, he taught anatomy and physiology at Vincennes University from 1970 to 1996.

A member of the local Lions Club for many years, he also served on the Board of Directors, Indiana Lions Eye Bank, becoming chairman of that board 1983 to 1985 and 1990 to 1992. He received training to do eye enucleations and served in that capacity several years.

He was also a member of the American Legion, Post 73, Vincennes.

Surviving are his wife, Donna D. (Farr) Beeson, of Vincennes, who he married on April 24, 1955; a daughter, Lynelle D. Vogel, and husband, Douglas, of Winona Lake; a son, Duane L. Beeson, and wife, Aletha, of Orange City, Iowa. grandchildren, Caleb Vogel, Marisa Vogel, Miriam Vogel, Malea Beeson, Jenna Beeson and Analise Beeson; two half-brothers, Cecil E. Beeson Jr., of Cincinnati, Ohio, and Daniel H. Bockover, of Anderson; two half-sisters, Jennie P. (Beeson) Hiam, of Evansville, and Betty L. (Bockover) Marshall, of Bluffton.

Preceding Robert in death were his parents, step-parents, one brother, Richard H. Beeson, and a half-brother, William D. Bockover.

Funeral services for Bob will be at 1 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 8, 2012, at Goodwin Funeral Home, 524 Broadway St., Vincennes, with the Rev. Doug Vogel officiating.

Visitation will be from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. on Saturday at the funeral home. Burial will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery, Vincennes.
