SENYK, Peter P. Sr.
Peter P. Senyk Sr., 100, of Glastonbury, beloved husband of the late Helen (Litwin) Senyk, passed away peacefully, Tuesday, (April 23, 2013) at Salmon Brook Health Care. He was born July 10, 1912 in Hartford, and was the son of the late Paul M. and Mary (Wojtyna) Senyk. He attended the Chauncey Harris School in Hartford before moving to Glastonbury, where he decided to begin working at the age of 14. Prior to his retirement, Peter was a machinist at the Royal Typewriter for many years. He was a communicant of St. Paul Church. Peter will be remembered by his loving family; a son, Peter P. Senyk Jr. and his wife Jean of Glastonbury; two daughters, Barbara Constantine and her husband Gus of Glastonbury, and Rosemary Senyk of Columbia; seven beloved grandchildren; Susan Walker and her husband Michael of New Hampshire, Steven Constantine of Hebron, Tina Luzzi and her husband Thad of Glastonbury, Laurie Martin and her husband Michael of Marlborough, Michael Senyk of Glastonbury, Stacy Ray and her husband Joe of East Hampton, and Karen Williams of Glastonbury; eight cherished great grandchildren; two adored great great granddaughters; in addition, a brother, Paul Senyk and his wife Pam, of West Palm Beach, FL; two sisters, Dorothy Glista and her husband Ted, of Ludlow, MA, and Helen DeGemmis and her husband Al, of Glastonbury. Besides his parents, he was also predeceased by a daughter, Judy Williams; a grandson Edward Williams; and two sisters, Josephine and Anna. The Senyk family would like to extend a grateful thank you to the staff of Masonicare Partners Home Health & Hospice of East Hartford and Salmon Brook Health Care, for all their compassionate care extended to Peter.
Relatives and friends may pay their respects to the family on Monday, April 29, 2013 from 9:30 -10:30a.m. at the Farley-Sullivan Funeral Home, 50 Naubuc Avenue, Glastonbury, with Mass of Christian Burial celebrating Peter's life at 11 a.m. in St. Paul Church, 2577 Main Street Glastonbury. Interment will follow in Holy Cross Cemetery, Hebron Avenue and Wickham Road Glastonbury. At the family's request, in lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in Peter's memory to Masonicare Partners Home Health & Hospice, 111 Founders Plaza, Suite 200, East Hartford, CT 06108 or to a charity of the donor's choice.
