Sharon Handler Obituary
Sharon (Rosenthal) Handler, 68, of Country Club Dr., Woodbridge, devoted wife of Lawrence Handler, died at the Delray Medical Center, Delray Beach, Fl. on Monday, Jan. 27, 2014. Born in Hartford, Dec. 19, 1945, she was the daughter of the late Joseph & Julia(Pearl) Rosenthal. Beloved Mother of Eric Handler(Elisa) of Darien, Ct. & Holly Handler(Tyson Fick) of Juneau, Alaska. Dear Sister of Myron Rosenthal(June) of Boca Raton, Fl. Loving Sister-in-law of Steven Handler(Sandy) of Galway, N.Y. Cherished Grandmother of Ethan, Brendan, Sydney, Samantha, Nathan, & Riley. A graduate of the University of Connecticut, Sharon was a member of Temple Emanuel of Greater New Haven and a life-member of both Hadassah & ORT. Funeral Services at the Robert E. Shure Funeral Home, 543 George St.,New Haven, THURSDAY at 12:00 o'clock NOON with Interment Services to follow at the Temple Emanuel Cemetery, 1360 Berlin Turnpike, Wethersfield. Memorial Contributions may be sent to Temple Emanuel of Greater New Haven, 150 Derby Ave., Orange, CT 06477 or to the charity of one's choice. A Period of Mourning will be observed at the family home, 61 Country Club Dr., Woodbridge, Thursday starting at 4 p.m. with Minyan at 6 p.m., Friday until sundown, Saturday evening, and on Sunday. www.shurefuneralhome.com.

I would see Sharon when I worked at the Little Traveler years ago and she was always smiling and a joy to talk with. She was a sweet and kind lady. Sending blessings to her family, my thoughts and prayers are with you all.

We were deeply shocked and saddened by the unexpected news of Sharon's passing. As our neighbor for 20 years in West Hartford, our children grew up together, and we shared many conversations and experiences. Always gracious, always welcoming, Sharon personified the best of everything you want in a mother, grandmother, neighbor, and friend. Our condolences to Larry, Eric and Holly. Sharon will always be in all our hearts.
