STEEN, Douglas Lloyd
Douglas Lloyd "Doug" Steen, 21, of Andrew Drive, Canton, passed away Tuesday, May 1, 2012 due to complications from diabetes. He was born March 5, 1991 in Hartford, the beloved son of Lloyd E. and Brenda L. (Greene) Steen of Canton. Doug was a graduate of the Hyde School in Woodstock and had attended the York College of Pennsylvania and South College of Tennessee. Having been an avid sportsman, Doug played soccer, lacrosse and hockey and in 2008 was awarded placement on the "All League", Boys Soccer 1st Team of the Southeast Independent Schools Athletic Association. Doug also had a love for animals and his dog Hans. Besides his parents he is survived by his sister Erika Steen of Canton; his grandmother, Edith Greene of Yarmouth Port, MA; his aunts and uncles, Pat Burke of Gloucester, MA, Ann Greene and Todd Norian of West Stockbridge, MA and Barbara Steen Audette and Ken Audette of Windsor and two cousins, Dan and Tim Burke.
A memorial service will be held Friday, May 11th at 7 p.m. the Vincent Funeral Home, 120 Albany Turnpike in Canton. The family will receive friends prior to the service from 6-7 p.m. Burial will be private. Memorial donations may be made to the ASPCA, 520 8th Ave, 7th Floor, New York, NY 10018; The Hyde School, 150 Route 169, Woodstock, CT 06281, or to a charity of your choice. I am truly sorry for your loss. I went to South College with Doug, and I have to say what a delight he was to sit next to. He will surely be missed. My heart felt sympathy goes out to you and your family at this time, and in the days to come.. Jennifer P.

Ah man Lloyd and Brenda. I am so sad to hear this. To say I am sorry does not describe fully how I feel...but then again, I am at a loss for words...
May God bless you Douglas, and may he give your parents and sister the strength to get through this.
