George A. Nill, 82, of Bristol, husband of Beverly Nill, passed away Tuesday (June 17, 2014) at Bristol Hospital. George was born on August 9, 1931 in Queens, NY, one of two children to the late George and Elizabeth Nill. George spent his career in the Air Force, serving in both the Korean Conflict and Vietnam War. After, he stayed in the military, working at UCONN Storrs ROTC, retiring after 20 years as a Master Sgt. He was a talented musician, serving as a member of the Worship team in several churches, playing both the guitar and piano. George was a motorcycle enthusiast, riding for 40 years. George loved to travel, especially to the beach. Most of all, he loved spending time with his wife, family, and extended family. George is survived by three sons and one daughter-in-law: Scott and Tricia Nill, Las Vegas, NV; Derek Nill, Montauk Point, NY, Tom Maher, Farmington; one daughter: Karen Fletcher, Rocky Hill; one sister: Pearl Robbins, Waco, TX; seven grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, George was pre-deceased by one son: Mark Nill. Funeral services will be celebrated at Funk Funeral Home, 35 Bellevue Ave., Bristol, CT on Tuesday, June 24, 2014 at 11AM. Friends and relatives are invited to call at Funk Funeral home between 10AM and 11AM, prior to the funeral service. Immediately following the funeral service there will be a procession to State Veterans Cemetery, Bow lane, Middletown, CT.
