FIORI, Linda A. (Perretta)
Linda A. (Perretta) Fiori, 53, of Rocky Hill, the loving wife of James Fiori for 29, years went home to be with her father and Savoir Jesus Christ on November 7, 2012. She passed away at home with her family by her side after a courageous seven month battle with Melanoma. She was a native of Berlin and the daughter of the late James Perretta. Linda loved all animals and always wanted to share her blessings with others, she volunteered at Birthright of Newington, The Kensington Vol. Fire Dept, delivered Thanksgiving and Christmas meals to the elderly in Berlin, served meals to the homeless on holidays and every Christmas morning she would join others from Wellspring church visiting and handing out toys to children at The Hospital for special care. Besides her Husband, Linda leaves behind her pride and joy; her daughter and best friend Christie Fiori of Rocky Hill, Jeter and Jake her two Yorkshire terriers that she considered her sons; her father and mother-in-law, Richard and Irene Fiori of Kensington; brother and sister-in-law, David and Karen Fiori of New Britain; sister and brother-in-law Phillip and Linda (Fiori) Romegialli of East Berlin; brother and sister-in-law Thomas and Andrea Fiori of New Jersey; and Gabby, a little girl from Hartford that she adored and loved to care for. She was predeceased by her sister in law Diane (Fiori) Martin. Linda was a registered nurse for over 30 years, a devoted mother and care giver to many. She loved animals, and helping others. Linda was a very special person who touched the lives of virtually every person she came in contact with. There was not a thing for anyone she would not do. People are often judged by how attractive, successful, or famous they are. She exceeded these accomplishments by how she touched other people's lives. She thought of other people's needs before her own. She was quick to offer help to anyone who needed it, whatever the cause. She spent every single day putting everyone else's needs before her own. She didn't base her value on how much income she could attain, or how much credit she would receive or how others might perceive her. She did things for people because she believed that is what we are here for. The world is simply a poorer place today because of her loss. We will not forget the life lessons she taught us; and we will never forget the memory of her, the finest, most generous and compassionate care giver we ever knew.
Per Linda's wishes there will be no calling hours. Friends and family are asked to attend a funeral service for Linda on Saturday, Nov. 10, 2012 at 2 p.m. at Wellspring Church, 222 Lincoln St Kensington CT. Burial will be private at West Lane cemetery in Kensington. Donations in Linda's memory can be made to Wellspring Church, 222 Lincoln St. Kensington CT 06037. The Berlin Memorial Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

I didn't know Linda until a personal situation caused our paths to cross. She worked in the ICU at New Britain General Hospital when she cared for my father in his last days. I told her that I worked for the New Britain Fire Department and knew her husband Jim. In reading her obituary there was a sentence that read Linda was a very special person who touched the lives of virtually every person she met. I could not agree more. During the weeks leading up to the death of my father any visit to the hospital would include a warm smile with a compassionate and supportive talk from Linda no matter how busy she was. This was not something she did because I knew Jim, it was just her way with everyone. Even though this happened 20 years ago I have never forgotten her kind words or the support she gave to me and my family. Being a caregiver takes a very special person, and Linda was put on this earth for that purpose. May the memories held deep within your heart help soothe your spirit at this difficult time. You're in my prayers.

Dear Jim and Christie,
May God comfort you in this time of sorrow. I know Linda is working with him in Heaven helping people just as she did here in this life. There are no words to adequately express the void she will leave on this Earth, but I know her legacy will live on for years to come. She was, as Pastor Rick said, a true Saint and may your memories of Linda carry you through each day and make them a little less sorrowful.

Dear JIM AND christi I am so sorry to hear Linda is not with you anymore.
I couldn't believe when I read the notice.
We worked so well together for many years and we talked at Christmas about the picture she sent me and how big Christi was getting and the puppies.
The joy when Christi was born made her so happy and Jims love for you. May the angels comfort you both at the awful time of loss.
