Born in Clearfield, Pennsylvania on October 6, 1932, she was the daughter of the late Boyd and Cecile Shirey. Joan spent many wonderful years living with her husband Richard in Appleton, Maine…and made very dear friends there. She was a very kind and lovely lady who will be missed dearly by all that knew her, especially by her four children: Byron Morton and his wife Carolyn Bonday, Keith Morton and his wife Lori and son John, Denise Zitnick and her husband Mike, her adored grandson Dustin Zitnick, Kevin Morton and his wife Barbara; her brother Harold Shirey and his wife Mary; her two sisters, Jean Wighaman and her husband Paul and Susan Robbins, as well as many nieces, nephews, extended family members and friends. Funeral services and burial will be private. Donations in Joan's memory may be made to a charity of the donor's choice. The D'Esopo Funeral Chapel, Wethersfield is assisting the family with arrangements. To share a memory of Joan with the family, please visit www.desopo.com .
