Alicia (Guptill) Adams

ADAMS, Alicia (Guptill) Alicia (Guptill) Adams died on Tuesday (August 21, 2007) at Hartford Hospital, surrounded by her loving family, after having survived breast cancer for12 years and liver cancer for 2 years but finally succumbed to bone cancer. She was born in Medford, MA on August 30, 1927, the daughter of the late Lawrence and Alice (Maloney) Guptill. She liked the life of a Navy wife and was a great contributor to her husband's career. Travel suited her very well having moved family and home sixteen times to various parts of the country and even overseas. She was genuinely interested in people and her charisma allowed her to convert a stranger to a friend instantly. She loved music, was an avid reader of mystery novels and enjoyed movies and stage productions. She is survived by her husband, Emil Adams of Glastonbury: her daughters, Cheri Colby of South Portland, ME: Kris Adams, of Holliston, MA: Donna Urban of Rocky Hill: a son, Michael Adams of Cromwell, and a stepson Scott Adams and his wife Diane of Chula Vista, CA. She was very proud of her several grandchildren and great grandchildren. Alicia was predeceased by a daughter, Linda Adams: and her first husband Lt. Frank Pitelli. The family will be receiving friends and relatives on Saturday Aug. 25th, at 1 p.m. with a service at 2 p.m. in the Glastonbury Funeral Home, 450 New London Tpke., Glastonbury.
