Alyce A. Ambrose, 81, of West Hartford, died Wednesday (March 20, 2002) at St. Francis Hospital. She was born in Hartford, daughter of the late Anthony and Anna (Zellinskas) Ambrose and had lived in West Hartford most of her life. Prior to her retirement, Alyce worked for the State of CT Health Dept. for 29 years. She was a communicant of St. Mark The Evangelist Church, a member of the CT State Employee's Association, a member of the former Lithuanian American Legion and she was an avid animal lover. She is survived by two brothers, Charles "Chuck" Ambrose of West Hartford and William Ambrose and his wife Ann of Kensington; three nieces, Diane Kramer and Leslie Farr, both of Kensington and Lezlie Stoh of Loveland, CO; a cousin, Jane Minagil of Wethersfield; and several grandnieces and nephews. She was pre-deceased by a sister, Agnes Coe. The funeral will be Friday, March 22, 9:15 a.m. from The Dillon-Baxter Funeral Home, 1276 Berlin Tpke., Wethersfield, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial, 10 a.m. in St. Mark The Evangelist Church, 467 So. Quaker Ln., West Hartford. Burial will be in the family plot of Mt. St. Benedict Cemetery.
