Andrew Hannah, formerly of West Hartford, beloved husband of Wanda, died July 10, 2013 in Simsbury, CT. Born in Kilmarnock, Scotland in 1924, he served as a pilot in the Royal Air Force in World War II. Under a reciprocal service agreement, he trained with the US Navy, earning his US Navy Pilot Wings at Pensacola. He flew operationally in the Pacific. Upon being demobbed in 1947, he returned to Glasgow University to complete his Bachelor of Law Degree. In the five years that followed, he had two major successes, one managing his family's textile operation and two, marrying Wanda. In 1952, he immigrated to America and quickly took a position in the Pension Division of Connecticut General. He retired in 1981 as an Officer of the Company. Andrew was an avid swimmer. He enjoyed the many friends he made at the West Hartford JCC, the Cornerstone pool and McLean Therapeutic pool. In addition to his wife, he is survived by his loving children, Lynne and Robert Kelsey, Drew and Ellen Hannah and Lesley and Steve Denhof as well as his grandchildren Gregory and Jennifer Kelsey, Eric Kelsey, Scott, Neil and Aimee Hannah and Katherine, Andrew and Hannah Denhof. Andrew's good cheer, loving spirit, intelligent wit and kind, gentle soul will be deeply missed.
