Anita T. Ennis

Anita Toomey Ennis, 92, of West Hartford, died peacefully on Tuesday, April 15, at Hartford Hospital. Born in Hartford, CT, she was the daughter of the late William J. Ennis and Abina "Peg" (Toomey) Ennis. She was a graduate of Mount St. Joseph Academy and Regis College in Weston, MA. Anita was employed as a Senior Contract Analyst for Aetna Insurance Co for 42 years prior to retiring. She was a devoted communicant at the Cathedral of St. Joseph where she served as a Eucharist Minister, Greeter and a member of the Funeral Ministry. She was a member of the Aetna 39er's Club, and was a Charter Member of the Charter Oak Photographic Society. Anita was an avid bowler in her youth and later enjoyed Wii bowling at the Elmwood Senior Center. She is survived by many loving and devoted cousins and friends. The great loves of her life were her kitty cats: Jezebel, Toby, Rudy, and Samantha. Funeral procession from The Ahern Funeral Home will be Monday at 9:30 am followed by the Funeral Liturgy in the Cathedral of St. Joseph, 140 Farmington Ave, Hartford, CT. Burial will be in Oak Hill Cemetery, Southington, CT.
