Aurelien A. Moreau

Aurelien "Andy " Moreau, 83, of East Hartford, husband of the late Annette (Soucy) Moreau, died peacefully with his family by his side on Saturday, April 19, 2014 at St. Francis Hospital, Hartford. Born in Fall River, MA, he was the son of the late Ernest and Yvonne (Blanchette) Moreau and lived in East Hartford for more than 54 years. He was employed as an Engineer at various United Technologies divisions for 35 years retiring in 1991. He was a veteran of the Korean Conflict serving in the U.S. Marine Corps. He was a communicant of St. Patrick - St. Anthony Church, supporting many activities including the Sandwich Ministry. Andy looked forward to joining his retired co-workers for their Tuesday lunches. He enjoyed woodworking, photography and socializing with friends and family. But most especially he enjoyed spending time with his cherished grandchildren who affectionately referred to him as "Papa". Andy was a very special person with an infectious smile. He was a man of great character who was always willing to lend a hand to those in need. He is survived by three children; two sons, Michael Moreau and his wife Marci of West Hartford and Steven Moreau of Torrington; a daughter, Andrea Wojtowicz and her husband Christopher of Upton, MA; a sister, Janine Sharples and her husband Kenneth of Austin, TX; his dear friend and companion, Bridget Quinn of West Hartford and nine grandchildren, Brooke, Paige, Emily, Zack, Abbey, Grace, Samantha, Rachel and Alyson as well as many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a brother Marcel Moreau. The funeral Mass of Christian Burial will be Wednesday (April 23) at 10:00 am at St. Patrick-St. Anthony Church, 285 Church Street, Hartford, CT 06103. Everyone is asked to go directly to the church. Burial will be in Cedar Hill Cemetery, Hartford with military honors. The family will receive relatives and friends on Tuesday, April 22, 2014 from 4:00 PM - 7:00 PM at the D'Esopo Funeral Chapel, 277 Folly Brook Boulevard, Wethersfield, CT 06109.
