Carlos Aparicio

APARICIO, Carlos Carlos Aparicio, 81, of Rocky Hill, passed peacefully away on Tuesday, (March 11, 2008) at his home, surrounded by his loving family. He was born May 21, 1926, in Lima, Peru and raised in the District of Ancash, Peru. Carlos was predeceased by his parents, Victor Aparicio Reyes and Aurelia Vasquez de Del Castillo; his loving stepmother, Enriqueta Avila de Aparicio; and his caring uncle Guadalupe Aparicio. He was a wonderful husband of 48 years to his adoring wife, Jessie Aparicio; a proud loving father to Anselma Aparicio of Glastonbury and Janet Torrado and his son-in-law Jose Torrado of Rocky Hill; a devoted grandfather to Aleesha and Margot, Richard, Jainer, Roger and great grandfather to Jessica, David, Carol and Anselmi. He was predeceased by his brother Roman Aparicio and is survived by his siblings, Pedro Agreda of West Hartford, Yolanda Manrique of Peru, Emundo and Arturo Velit of Peru, Alicia Mantilla of East Hartford, Pedro and Julio Del Castillo of West Hartford and Teresa Porras of Manchester. He leaves behind his in-laws; several nieces, nephews and cousins who loved and respected him for all the family morals he instilled in them. He was a member of the El Hermandad del Senor del Los Milagros, Bolognesi Social Club and of Club Peru. Carlos was known for having a wonderful sense of humor, for his jokes and practical jokes he often played on his family and friends. Carlos loved his family, friends, his beloved native country, Andean music and Peruvian foods. His family and friends were never bored or sad when he was around. Carlos came to this country to provide a better life for his growing family. By his arrival in the US, he was able to bring the rest of his extended family. His only wish for all of his family was that they would also find the wealth and comfort that one could acquire in this land. He knew the struggles of an uneducated person and encouraged everyone to pursue higher education. He was one of our family's patriarchs and will be deeply missed. Funeral services will be Saturday, 9 a.m. from the Giuliano-Sagarino Funeral Home at BROOKLAWN, 511 Brook Street, Rocky Hill, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in Our Lady of Sorrow's Church at 10 a.m. Friends are invited to the funeral home, TODAY, from 6-9 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory may be made to Our Lady of Sorrow's Church.
