Charles E. Amos

AMOS, Charles E. Charles E. Amos, passed away on Sunday, (March 6, 2005) at the Hospital for Special Care in New Britain after a long illness. Born in Prichard, AL. he was a resident of Hartford over 40 years. Charles loved cars, fishing, jazz music, and traveling. "Pops" was predeceased by his mother, Mrs. Alberta Parker, his father, Clyde Johnson and a brother, Robert "Gene" Amos. He is survived by his two sons, Charles Amos of Atlanta, GA and his wife, Debra Griffin Amos and Mongo Coleman of Hartford and his wife, Simone Coleman. He is also survived by his sister, Mrs. Williemae Mason of Mobile, AL. Charles also leaves three granddaughters, Brianna and Shania Coleman of Hartford and Athena Amos of Atlanta, GA. His uncle, Bill Amos of Bloomfield and his wife, Lillie. He leaves a very close longtime friend, Mrs. Patricia Coleman Wilkes of Windsor and a long list of cousins, nieces and nephews. There will be a memorial service Tuesday, March 15 at 3 p.m. at Henry Fuqua Funeral Home, 94 Granby St., Bloomfield.
