SIWIK, Chester J.
Chester J. Siwik, 87, beloved husband of Concettina (Rizza) Siwik of Rocky Hill, died Saturday (February 2, 2013) at home. Born in New Britain on January 22, 1926, son of the late Alexander and Anna (Tanski) Siwik. He had lived in Newington for 40 years and had lived in Vernon before moving to Rocky Hill. He was a U.S. Army Veteran of World War II and was a chief electrician for the Hartford Courant for 40 years. With his wife and family, they enjoyed traveling, especially their family vacations to the Island of Aruba. In addition to his wife, Concettina, he leaves two daughters, Valerie Nagy and her husband, Ronald of Cromwell and Lisa Fleury and her husband Thomas of South Windsor, Thomas's mother, Anne (Fleury) Crawford of Vernon; a brother, Bruno Siwik of Southington; two sisters, Victoria Bialecki of New Britain and Anna Brzezinski in Florida and among his nieces and nephews, he leaves a special niece Karen Boulais of Vernon. He was predeceased by brothers and sisters, Walter and Joseph Siwik and Monica Parulski and Sophie Fietkiewicz.
All are invited to a Mass of Christian Burial on Wednesday at 10 a.m. at St. Margaret Mary Church, 80 Hayes Road, South Windsor. Private burial will be held with military honors at the State Veteran Cemetery, Middletown. There are no calling hours. Samsel & Carmon Funeral Home, in South Windsor, has taken care of arrangements. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to the Vitas Innovative Hospice Care, 628 Hebron Ave., Suite 300, Glastonbury, CT 06033.
