Concepcion M. Alvarez

ALVAREZ, Concepcion M. Concepcion M. Alvarez 69, of Hartford died December 19, 2006. The family is saddened with grief as we announce the passing of our beloved sister "Conchi". She was born in Colon, Matanzas, Cuba on December 8, 1937, daughter of the late Ramon Alvarez and Teresa (Beceiro) Alvarez. She lived in Hartford since coming to the United States in 1968. She was a teacher in Cuba and after arriving in the United States she worked at Travelers Insurance Company for 25 years, in the Hartford Schools Cafeteria System and later until her retirement, she was employed as a paraprofessional by the Hartford Board of Education. She was a communicant of Saint Peter's Church in Hartford and member of the Association of the Precious Name of Jesus. She is survived by a brother, Ramon Alvarez and his wife Caridad of Hartford, a sister Teresita Alvarez of Hartford, as well as many cousins in Spain, Cuba, United States and Canada. She also leaves many dear friends who will miss her. She was predeceased by her brother Manuel Alvarez. A special thanks to the Palliative Care/Hospice Unit and the wonderful staff of Bliss 5 at Hartford Hospital. The funeral will be Friday, December 22, 9:15 a.m. from the Dillon-Baxter Funeral Home, 1276 Berlin Tpke., Wethersfield, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial, 10 a.m. at Saint Peter's Church, 160 Main St., Hartford. Burial will follow in Mount Saint Benedict Cemetery, Bloomfield. The family will receive relatives and friends at Dillon-Baxter Funeral Home, on Thursday, December 21, from 5-8 p.m. with a Rosary Service at 6:30 pm. The family is requesting no flowers.
