Dominick E. Carabillo, 94, of Windsor Locks, beloved husband of the late Angela (Pardi) Carabillo, died Thursday (January 23, 2014) at St. Francis Hospital, Hartford. He was born in Hartford on October 27, 1919 son of the late Antonio and Laura (Pallanga) Carabillo. He lived in Hartford for many years before residing with his daughter and son-in-law, Evelyn and Charles Norris in Windsor Locks. Mr. Carabillo was a U.S. Army
veteran of World War II
and served in the Asiatic Pacific Theater in New Zealand, New Caladonia, Guadalcanal, New Guinea, Ioshima and Okinawa. He was employed by Connecticut Printers in Bloomfield for 44 years before retiring. He was a VFW
member, a parishioner of St. Justin Church in Hartford, and enjoyed watching the UConn Women's Basketball team. He leaves two daughters, Laura Edwards and Evelyn Norris and her husband Charles of Windsor Locks; a brother, Edward Carabillo of Darien and nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by two brothers, Frank A. and James A. Carabillo.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Monday, Jan. 27 at 10 a.m. at St. Mary Church, 42 Spring St., Windsor Locks. Burial with military honors will follow at Mt. St. Benedict Cemetery, Bloomfield. His family will receive friends, Monday from 8:30 to 9:30 a.m. at the Windsor Locks Funeral Home, 441 Spring St., Windsor Locks.
