BOSWORTH, Donald H.

Donald H. Bosworth, 91, of Huntington Common, Kennebunk, ME, died after a brief illness at Southern Maine Medical Center on September 30, 2013. He was born March 28,1922 in Norwich, the only child to Harrison A. Bosworth and Mae (Houldcroft) Bosworth. He grew up in Wethersfield, CT and graduated from Wethersfield High School in 1940 where he was an outstanding athlete. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II and was a POW in Germany. When he returned from the war he married Jean (Hodgins) Bosworth on September 27, 1947 in Thompsonville, CT. They celebrated 58 years of marriage together. He joined his father's business, H.A. Bosworth & Son, and built many custom homes in Wethersfield and Glastonbury until he retired in 1984. After vacationing for several years in Maine, he and his wife moved to Cape Neddick and then to Kennebunk, visiting and living in the summer at their cottage on Cape Porpoise in Kennebunkport. After his wife's death in 2005 he moved to Huntington Common. Don was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather. He is survived by his two daughters, Dr. Donna E. Bosworth (Dr. Lawrence M. Borland) of Murrysville, PA. and Wendy B. Case (Edmund C. Case) of Newton, MA, his five grandchildren, Dr. Katherine B. Borland of Pittsburgh, PA., Seth B. Borland (Laura) of Houston, TX, Keely B. Borland of Pittsburgh, PA., Emily B. Case (Brett Bentson) of Jamaica Plain, MA., Adam M. Case (Alicia Weber) of Chicago, IL, and two great-grandchildren, Jonah Bentson, and Elsa Case.
There are no visiting hours and burial services will be private. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made in his name to the Animal Welfare Society, P.O.
