Edward S. Kozaczka, of Enfield, entered into eternal life at the age of 93, on Thursday (October 11, 2012) at Evergreen Healthcare, Stafford Springs. Edward was the beloved husband of 65 years to the late Wanda M. (Krupczak) Kozaczka and son of the late Stanislaw and Ann (Kulkulka) Kozaczka. He was born on July 24, 1919 in Enfield, and was a lifelong resident of Enfield. Edward served his country honorably with the U.S. Army during World War II, earning two bronze stars. He was a member of the American Legion John Maciolek Post 154, Enfield. Prior to retiring in 1981 Edward was employed for 25 years with Hamilton Standard. Edward loved woodworking and made many wooden toys for his grandchildren, he was also fond of cooking, traveling and trips to Mohegan Sun, but his greatest joy in life was his family. He was a lifelong member and communicant of St. Adalbert Church. Edward is survived by his beloved son and daughter-in-law, Dr. Robert and Marcia Kozaczka of Somers; two grandchildren, Robert E. Kozaczka, Jr. and his wife April and Dr. Laura Mafuz and her husband Hakeem; and two great-grandchildren, Dominic and Sophia. He is also survived by his brother Joseph Kozaczka of Springfield, MA and his sister Anna Klotz of East Hartford along with many nieces and nephews. Edward was predeceased by several brothers.
There will be no calling hours. Funeral services for Edward will be held on Monday October 15, 2012, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 11 a.m. in St. Adalbert Church. Interment will follow with military honors in St. Adalbert Cemetery. Memorial donations in Edward's memory may be made to St. Adalbert Church 90 Alden Ave., Enfield, CT 06082.
