Gisele (Dionne) Cyr, 66, of Windsor, beloved wife of Roger M. Cyr, passed away on Thursday (November 29, 2012) unexpectedly at home. She was born on February 19, 1946 in St. Anne, New Brunswick, Canada to the late Leo and Rita (Gauvin) Dionne. Affectionately known as "Gigi" or "Memere", she was the foundation of her family. A loving wife, mother, sister, grandmother and great grandmother, she is irreplaceable in their lives. She was a lifelong learner and loved to share the wisdom that she obtained and was very talented in her own unique way. A great cook, she provided everyone a warm and inviting home where all felt welcome. Her love for children always put a sparkle in her eye. In addition to her husband she is survived by her children, Louis Cyr and his wife Nicole of South Windsor; Mireille Marquardt and her husband Fred of Windsor; Bernard Cyr and his wife Carmela of Wethersfield; Dwayne Cyr and his girlfriend, Melissa Duncan of Windsor; her brothers and sisters, Andre Dionne of Arizona; Florence Papineau of Arizona; Abel Dionne of N.B., Canada; Diane Michaud of St. John's, N.B., Canada; Kenneth Dionne of Nevada; Renald Dionne of Ontario, Canada; Claudette Godin of Alberta, Canada; Daniel Dionne of New Brunswick, Canada; Mireille Cyr of Vernon; Christian Dionne of New Brunswick, Canada; and Chantal Deschenes of New Brunswick, Canada. She also leaves four grandchildren, Jennifer, Quentin, Kaitlin and Kayla, her great grandchildren, Ryan and Hailey, as well as step grandchildren, step great grandchildren, and many other relatives and special friends. In addition to her parents she was predeceased by her brothers, Michael, Joseph and Donald Dionne of Canada.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday, December 6, 10 a.m. at St. Gertrude Church, 550 Matianuck Ave., Windsor. Burial will follow in Mount St. Benedict Cemetery, Bloomfield. Her family will receive friends on Wednesday, December 5, from 4-7 p.m. at the Carmon Windsor Funeral Home, 807 Bloomfield Ave., Windsor.
