SAUER, Gregg A.
Gregg A. Sauer, 52, died June 12, 2012 at St. Francis Memorial Hospital in Hartford. He resided in Middletown and was the son of Vincent A. Sauer and the late Doris Gring Sauer. Gregg graduated from William Allen High School, Allentown, PA in 1977 and the Pennsylvania State University in 1981 with a degree in Electrical Engineering. He was employed as an engineer by Northeast Utilities since his graduation, held a nuclear power operator's license and was recently recognized for 30 years of service. Before his illnesses, he was an outdoor enthusiast and enjoyed camping, skiing, scuba diving and hiking with his friends. He was actively involved with organizations devoted to the preservation of the Appalachian Trail and was a dedicated Penn State Alumnus. Gregg will be remembered for his quick wit, intelligence and uncanny ability to win absolutely any argument. Gregg is survived by his father Vincent A. Sauer of Allentown, PA; brother Glenn R. Sauer (wife Debra Sauer) of Fairfield; sister Lori A. Young (husband John J. Young) of Macungie PA; nephews: Christian Sauer, Alexander Young; and nieces: Maria Sauer, Gabrielle Sauer, Teresa Sauer and Molly Young. Friends he considered family included Michael and Eve Damiano and children of Emmaus, PA and Richard Halleck and family of Haddam.
