Herbert Gustav Aas

AAS, Herbert Gustav Herbert Gustav Aas, 84, of the Veteran's Hospital, Rocky Hill and 30 Legion Dr., East Hartford, died Monday (May 31, 2004). Born on November 26, 1919, in Sioux Falls, SD; he was the son of the late Sven and Tilda (Qualset) Aas. He was a Navy Veteran from 1937- 1947, he worked for the UTC Research Lab for 25 years and he was a Laurel/YMCA swim team coach for over 30 years. He is survived by his wife, Barbara J. Aas; a son, Paul N. Aas and his wife, Patricia of East Glastonbury; a daughter, Anne-Marie Aas-Salamenta and her husband, Thomas of Agawam, MA; sisters, Thordis Zagona and her husband, Dr. Salvatore of Tuscon, AZ and Miriam Johnson and her husband, Rev. Amon of Arcadia, CA and three grandchildren. A memorial service will be held at the convenience of the family at the Rocky Hill Veterans Home Domicile Chapel, 287 West St., Rocky Hill. Burial will be private in South Dakota.
