GAGNON, Hermel J.

Hermel J. Gagnon, 82, of Bristol, beloved husband of Ramona (Martin) (Bouchard) Gagnon, died on Sunday, (July 7, 2013) at Bristol Hospital. Mr. Gagnon was born in Madawaska, ME on March 24, 1931 and was the oldest of six children of the late Archie and Delvina (Bernier) Gagnon. He was raised and lived in Madawaska before moving to New Britain in 1973. He worked for J.J. Nissen as a Route Salesman before retiring. A Bristol resident for the past eight years, he was a United States Air Force Veteran of the Korean War, and was a member of the Teamsters Local 443. A devoted family man, he leaves his wife of 58 years, Ramona; a son and daughter-in-law, Reno and Sandra Gagnon of Bristol; two daughters and a son-in-law, Colette and Rudolph Schalker, and Lynn Gagnon, all of Bristol; eight grandchildren, Heather Robson, Shannon Gagnon, twins Jeffrey and Jonathan Daddario, Danielle and Kathryn Daddario, and Daisy and Michelle Schalker; a great-grandson, Dylan Ramsey; and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by four brothers and a sister.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday July 15, 2013 at 10 a.m. at St. Gregory Church, 235 Maltby St., Bristol. Burial, with military honors, will follow in St. Joseph Cemetery, Bristol. There are no calling hours.
