Iluminada "Minnie" (Gaza) Aguas, 71, of East Hartford, beloved wife of Maximiliano Aguas, for 43 years passed from this life on Saturday, (November 9, 2002) at her home, after a long illness. Minnie was born in the Philippines on April 19, 1931, the daughter of the late Mateo and Rita (Mendoza) Gaza had lived in the East Hartford community for 35 years. Minnie was a longtime communicant of St. Mary's Church in East Hartford. Along with her husband, she is survived by her two sons, Mario and Francisco Aguas both of East Hartford; a brother, Domingo Gaza of the Philippines;,her brother-in-law, Gil Aguas of West Hartford and his wife Toni; her nephew, Roland Aguas; and her niece, Gina Dulak both of Glastonbury. She was predeceased by her brother, Leonardo Gaza. Relatives and friends are invited to gather on Tuesday, Nov. 12 at 10:15 a.m. at the Callahan Funeral Home, 1602 Main St., East Hartford for a procession to St. Mary's Church, 15 Maplewood Ave., East Hartford, where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Committal services will follow in Holy Cross Cemetery, Glastonbury. Minnie's family and friends may call on Monday, Nov. 11, 5-8 p.m. at the funeral home.
