CURRY, Janet L. (Snyder)
Janet L. (Snyder) Curry, 78, of Windsor Locks and loving wife of the late LeRoy R. Curry, Jr. passed away peacefully on Tuesday, (April 16, 2013), at the Suffield House with her family by her side. Janet was born July 24, 1934, in West Liberty, PA, the daughter of the late Jacob and Mabel (Staff) Snyder. Janet graduated from Colorado Springs High School and moved to Windsor Locks where she has resided for over 50 years and was a member of the Congregational Church of Windsor Locks. She was employed with First National Supermarket, Anderson Group, Honda and retired from K-Mart after several years. Janet enjoyed traveling with her family and was an avid fan of the Boston Red Sox and both UCONN Men's and Women's Basketball teams. She is survived by three children, Ret. Col., Bruce L. Curry, and his wife, Lynn of Tampa, FL, Kim Draghi and her husband, Peter of Simsbury, CT, Col. Douglas B. Curry and his wife, Cathy of Vance AFB, OK. Janet is also survived by six grandchildren, Carolyn Irwin and her husband, Mike of King George, VA, Melissa Gutierrez and her husband, Tomas of Clermont, FL, Stephen and Megan Draghi both of Simsbury, CT, Parker and Wyatt Curry of Vance AFB, OK; and two great-grandchildren, Liam and Colleen Irwin. Janet's family would like to thank the nurses and staff at the Suffield House/Eagle Pointe and Beacon Hospice for the wonderful and compassionate care Janet received.
Relatives and friends are welcome to join the family on Friday, April 19, 2013, from 6-8 p.m. at the Windsor Locks Funeral Home, 441 Spring St., Windsor Locks. A funeral service in celebration of Janet's life will be held on Saturday, April 20, 2013, at 10 a.m. at the Congregational Church of Windsor Locks, 8 Main St., Windsor Locks. (Please meet at the church). Burial will follow in Woodlawn Cemetery in Suffield. In lieu of flowers memorial donations in memory of Janet may be made to the
