Jesse P. Cygan

Jesse P. Cygan, 59, of Newington, passed away on Wednesday, May 7, 2014 with his beloved family by his side. He was born in Poland and his family immigrated to New Britain in 1964. He was a Newington resident since 1969. Jesse was a restaurant manager at different popular small restaurants in the Hartford area. He loved the outdoors and was an avid fisherman who knew many special fishing spots. He was the beloved husband of Denise Cygan. He is survived and will be dearly missed by his six children, Jason White and wife Jen, Kimberly Matoy and husband Jarred, Scott Cygan, Christopher Cygan and wife Nicole, David Cygan and Jeremy Cygan and eight grandchildren. He also leaves his sister Barbara Zergiebel and husband Mark, two stepbrothers, Waldemar Kostrzewa and his wife Judith and Edward Kostrzewa, one niece Karen Mamczynski and extended family. He was predeceased by his mother Wanda Kostrzewa and stepfather Waclaw Kostrzewa, his father Henryk Cygan and his sister Joanna Mamczynski. Relatives and friends are invited to call on Saturday, May 10th, from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at the Newington Memorial Funeral Home, 20 Bonair Ave., Newington followed by a funeral service beginning at 12:00 p.m. He will be laid to rest in Sacred Heart Cemetery, New Britain following the service.
