Joan R. Jarosz(1933 - 2013)

Joan R. (Pelletier) Jarosz, 80, of Wethersfield, died Wednesday, November 20, 2013. She was the beloved wife of John Jarosz. Born in St. John, ME, on April 19, 1933, the daughter of the late Dina (Berube) and Dennis Pelletier. She graduated from the University of Maine at Fort Kent. She also graduated from Central Connecticut State University, and received her Master's and sixth year from the University of Hartford. Joan started her teaching career in the Windsor school system. She was a retired Kindergarten school teacher from the Hartford school system for 32 years. She taught at Mary Hooker, Kinsella, Kennelly, and Burns school. She was a resource teacher for the Follow Through Program in Hartford. She was a member of the Ladies Club at the Church of the Incarnation, the NEA, and the HFT association, a former active member of the Hartford Woman's Club, and a Girl Scout leader for many years in Hartford. She also enjoyed attending daily Mass at Corpus Christi church in Wethersfield. Besides her husand John of over 57 years, she leaves a daughter Janice Grimaldi and a son John Jarosz both of Wethersfield. She also leaves three adored grandchildren, Justin and David Grimaldi of Wethersfield, and Geanna Jarosz of Bristol. She also leaves one sister, Marie Pelletier of Newington, and a sister and brother-in-law Mary and Jim Cronin of Bloomfield. She was the youngest of 14 children and was predeceased by sisters Essie Nadeau, Florence Fongemie, Dula Fisher, Edna Deprey, Thelma McGinn, Priscilla Watson, and Wilda Kirk. Brothers Medley Pelletier, Gilman Pelletier, Norman Pelletier, Claude Pelletier, and Gerald Pelletier. She was Godmother to Glen Fongemie, Steven Pelletier, David Kirk, Kathy Pelletier, Robin Stelmach, and Christine Hrycyna. Joan's family would like to thank the staff at Aurora Nursing Home. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday November 23, 2013 at 9:30 a.m. at the Church of the Incarnation, 544 Prospect St., Wethersfield. Burial will follow inside Rose Hill Memorial Park. Calling hours will be held on Friday, November 22, 2013, from 4 to 7 p.m. at Rose Hill Funeral Home, 580 Elm St., Rocky Hill.
