PETROSKY, John J., Jr.
John J. Petrosky, Jr., 77, of Clinton, passed away on March 24, 2013. Born in Torrington on June 27, 1935, he was the son of the late John and Blanche (Klosowski) Petrosky. He graduated from Princeton University in 1957 and married Joann Exner that same year. He served in the army from 1957 until 1965. After retiring from the military, he worked as an analyst for Southern New England Telephone Company, Traveler's Insurance Company, and as an internal auditor for Pitney Bowes. Throughout his life, he was an avid wine collector. Pursuing this passion, he became a business owner in 1985 when he opened the Wine Cask in Old Saybrook. The store featured a wide selection of fine wines. He sold the business to his daughter in 2000 and retired. He is survived by his devoted wife Joann of 55 years; his sisters, Joanne Townsend and Kathy White; four children, Kimberly, John, Gregory and David, and their spouses, Richard Ertelt, Vicki, Patti, and Barbara; seven grandchildren, Alicia, Caitlin, Evan, Luke, Grant, Olivier, and Olga; and other cousins, nieces, and nephews.
Calling hours will be on April 1, from 4-6 p.m. at Swan Funeral Home, 80 East Main St., Clinton. The memorial mass will be held on April 2 at 11 a.m. at St. Mary's Church, 54 Grove St., Clinton, with an open reception immediately following in the church hall.
