Joseph C. Boulanger, 78, (Joe, Uncle Pete) passed away Wednesday (November 28, 2012) at Hartford Hospital. He was the son of the late Oscar and Beatrice (Robichaud) Boulanger. Joe lived most of his life in Hartford CT. He worked at Royal Typewriter as a blueprint machine operator. And then he served his country in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean War. Over the years he accumulated 7,000 hours as a volunteer at Hartford Hospital. Joe leaves his longtime friend Gordon Anderson of Wetersfield; his loving niece Denise Johnson and her husband Thomas and their son Dylan of North Granby; Nephews Donald, Thomas and Michael; Nieces Susan, Laurie Rae, Linda, Anne, Sandy and Christine; two sisters-in-law Jeanette Boulanger and Chico Boulanger. Joe was pre-deceased by three sisters Doris, Celia and Jeanette; two brothers Raymond and Leo; and a nephew Jeffery. Uncle Pete (as he was fondly known to all his family) loved people and always had something nice to say that made you feel good. Joe also leaves many friends and caregivers at DeVita Dialysis Center in Rocky Hill, the former Wethersfield Health Care Center, and the Jefferson House in Newington.
Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, December 8, 2012 at 10 a.m. in the Chapel at the State Veterans Cemetery, Bow Lane, Middletown, CT. Burial will follow. The Berlin Memorial Funeral Home 96 Main Street, Kensington is in charge of arrangements.
