Joseph M. Lombardo, 80, of Wethersfield, husband of the late Josephine (Piacentini) Lombardo, died peacefully, Wednesday, (March 13, 2013) at Hartford Hospital. He was born May 31, 1932 in Hartford and was the son of the late Paul and Josephine (Gallo) Lombardo. Joseph was a proud US Army, Korean War veteran. He worked as a mason and carpenter for many years and later owned and operated L&L Caterers for 25 years. He was a devoted husband, father and grandfather, his family was the most important part of his life. He enjoyed woodworking, boating and going to the Casino. He will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved him. He is survived by his children, Paul Lombardo of Wethersfield, Linda Buccheri and husband, Paul of Rocky Hill, Donna Queiros and husband, Jim of Wethersfield and George Lombardo of Wethersfield, his beloved grandchildren, Paul and Joseph Buccheri, Daniel Lombardo, James Queiros and Haley and Ally Lombardo. He also leaves behind his brother, Richard Lombardo and wife, Lucille of South Carolina and brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Frank and Betty Ann Centini and Leonore and Tony Setaro all of Cromwell. He was predeceased by a sister, Sarah Mascolo and brother, Frank Lombardo.
Funeral service will be Monday at 9:15 a.m. at the D'Esopo Funeral Chapel, 277 Folly Brook Blvd. Wethersfield followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. at the Church of the Incarnation, 544 Prospect St., Wethersfield.
