CORCORAN, Mary (Wohlfarth)
Mary (Wohlfarth) Corcoran, 75, of Columbia, died, Wednesday, (February 14, 2007), at Windham Hospital. She was born in College Point, NY, August 22, 1931, a daughter of the late Carl and Helen (Culkin) Wohlfarth. A graduate of Central Connecticut State University, Mary served as executive secretary for the Commissioner of Motor Vehicles, The Commissioner of the D.E.P., and the Mayor of New Britain. She enjoyed traveling, having visited Moscow and Prague in the 1980s, but her real passion was quilting and crocheting. Predeceased by her brother, Eugene Wohlfarth of Brooklyn, she is survived by her two sisters, Rita McKenna-Rammelkamp and her husband, Thomas of Patchogue, NY, and Virginia Joyce Gorsky and her husband, Raymond of Tolland; her six nephews, Richard McKenna of Melbourne, FL, Daniel McKenna of Patchogue, NY, Thomas McKenna and his wife, Sandra and children of Wallingford, Thomas Mee of Bolton, Robert Mee and Michael Mee, both of Rutland, VT; and a niece, Jeanmarie Farrell of Queens, NY. Her family will receive relatives and friends in The Yalesville Funeral Home, 386 Main Street, in the Yalesville section of Wallingford on Monday from 9 - 10:15 a.m. when the funeral cortege will proceed to Most Holy Trinity Church where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Internment will be private in Columbia Center Cemetery in Columbia.
