AMATO, Mary D. (Cartonio)

Mary D. (Cartonio) Amato, 88, of Burlington, beloved widow of the late Philip Anthony Amato, passed away peacefully Friday (December 16) surrounded by her loving family. Mary was born in Portland, ME on October 10, 1923 daughter of the late Raphael Cartonio and Felicia (Pasquarelli) Cartonio. Mary is survived by her cherished family, her five children: Vincent Amato and his fiancé Cynthia of Vernon, Philip Amato and his wife Aleta of Farmington, Felicia Farnham and her husband Joseph of Unionville, Mariann Amato Emam and her husband Manny of Farmington, and Neal Amato and girlfriend Gloria Grant of Burlington, her special nephew Fred Russo and his wife Donna of Forestville, one sister, Anna Russo of Portland, ME, as well as 8 dear grandchildren David, Michelle, Philip Anthony, Stephanie, Jennifer, PJ, Neal's two daughters, Gabrielle and Emily with whom she resided, 9 great-grandchildren, and many loving nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her sister Phyllis Russo and her daughter-in-law Lese Grant Amato.
Friends may call at The Ahern Funeral Home, 111 Main St., Unionville on Wednesday (Dec 21) from 4-8 p.m. Funeral services will be held Thursday at 10:30 a.m. in The Ahern Funeral Home. Burial will be private for the family. In lieu of flowers memorial, contributions may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital 501 St Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
