VICHI, Mary (Foley)
Mary (Foley) Vichi, 85, of Avon, beloved wife of the late Frank J. Vichi, passed away Friday (February 15, 2013). Mary was born in Hartford, to the late William and Marion (Spiers) Foley on October 17, 1927. Mary was raised in East Hartford, and attended St. Mary's and East Hartford High Schools. She and Frank made their home with their four children in Glastonbury. They retired to Burlington and then Avon. Mary was involved in facilitating Bereavement Groups and volunteering at St. Francis Hospital. She also enjoyed traveling the world, spending time with family and friends, cooking, listening to music and her passion of reading. Her spaghetti sauce and meatballs were the best known to mankind and will surely be missed. Mary was a communicant at the church of St Mary's of the Sea in Unionville, CT. She was predeceased by two brothers, William and John Foley, sisters Helen Heine and Mildred Farnham and Alice Foley. She is survived by her four children, daughters Maryellen Wright of East Windsor, Frances and son-in-law Roy Laun of Southington, Nancy Vichi of Avon, son John J. Vichi and daughter-in-law Laurie Opalack of Canton; three grandchildren, Adam and Kristin Wright and Jeffrey Laun; two great-grandchildren, Charlie and Brennan Wright; her long time special companion Edward Fasulo; her sister Ann Reynolds of South Windsor; and several nieces and nephews.
Friends may call at the Ahern Funeral Home, 111 Main St. Rt. 4 Unionville, TODAY from 5-7 p.m. Funeral procession from the Ahern Funeral Home will be Wednesday, February 20 at 9:15 a.m. followed by the Funeral Liturgy in the Church of St. Mary's of the Sea Church Star of the Sea. Burial will be in St. Mary Cemetery Avon.
