Marylou Dillon, 82, of West Hartford, died peacefully at home on Friday (June 28, 2013). She was born in Hartford, daughter of the late James C. E. Dillon and Helen (Daly) Dillon, and had lived in West Hartford for over 60 years. Prior to her retirement, Marylou was a grade school teacher for over 30 years in the Hartford and West Hartford school systems. She was a graduate of the Convent of the Sacred Heart, Noroton. She received her Bachelor of Arts Degree from Bryn Mawr College in 1952, and her Master of Arts Degree from Hillyer College, now the University of Hartford. She was a communicant and a founding parishioner of St. Peter Claver Church, West Hartford. She is survived by her sister, Helen D. Walker; and her brother-in-law, Philip S. Walker, of West Hartford; as well as many nieces, nephews and grand nieces and grand nephews who gave great joy to their "Aunt Lou". She was predeceased by three brothers, Charles J. Dillon, Thomas D. Dillon, and James C.E. Dillon, II.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated for Marylou at the Church of St. Peter Claver, 47 Pleasant St., West Hartford at 10 a.m. today. Friends are asked to go directly to the church. Burial will follow in Fairview Cemetery, West Hartford.
