JOHNSON, McCoy Howard "Mack" Sr.

McCoy Howard "Mack" Johnson Sr., 86, of New Britain went home to be with the Lord Sunday (April 14, 2013) at home. Mack was born in Halifax County, NC and was the son of the late Sandy A. and Martha B. (Hardy) Johnson. He was raised and educated in East Baltimore, MD. After graduating, Mack served his country honorably in the U.S. Navy during World War II. He later moved to CT where he was employed for General Electric for 45 years. Mack was also a member of the Pride of Ct. Lodge of Elks for several years. Mack is survived by his loving and devoted wife, Rose Johnson of New Britain; his four daughters; two sons and a host of grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Mack was predeceased by his two brothers, Otis and Stanley Johnson and his sister, Omega Johnson.
Homegoing Celebration for McCoy will be held Monday April 22, 2013 at 11 a.m. at St. James Missionary Baptist Church, 45 Daly Avenue, New Britain, Ct. with the Rev. John W. Walker, Pastor, presiding. Burial with full military honors will be in Fairview Cemetery, 120 Smalley Street, New Britain, Ct. The American Flag will be presented to Mack's wife, Rose. Relatives and friends may call at St. James Missionary Baptist Church, Monday from 10-11 a.m. Flowers will be accepted at the church Monday from 8:30-9:30 a.m. Service of comfort provided by the Paul A.
